Over the past several years, TechHOUNDS has launched several interactive demonstrations intended to reach across the Central Indiana community. These demonstrations have ranged from a "beat the robot" fundraiser (a friendly competition against our 2012 robot, Boomer), to allowing students to drive our robots - all of which inspire the young students in our community to pursue FIRST programs and engineering education. FLL Women: To further our commitment to eliminating the gender gap in technology, female TechHOUNDS students have travelled to the AllGirlsFLL to inspire dozens of middle school girls to pursue technology. Through the process of mentoring the fabrication of a NXT robot with LEGO components, we encouraged young women to invent the future of FLL and FIRST Robotics.
